Cooking Class Parties |
For 6 to 8 participants --- |
|
Cooking parties are informal dinner parties held in the kitchen of the host or hostess in which the guests participate in the preparation and the cooking of their dinner party under the guidance of their personal chef. Grocery costs are included but the students pay any mileage fee for service beyond 30 miles of Ramsey NJ plus the cost of the class. Cooking parties will last about 6 hours and your chef does the grocery shopping and arrives with all your ingredients for a pre-determined menu. The complete list of cooking class party menus can be found on any page's navigation button labeled "Classes". Students get preliminary instructions via a short lecture and demonstration and class commences with mise en place. Students break into teams and each station preps and cooks their dish with the chef's assistance as needed. Each team plates and serves their course and the dinner party ends with student's critiques and their chef's comments. Students receive printed recipes or recipe files for each course the group prepared. To host your own cooking party, first gather 5 to 7 friends that enjoy
great food and love to cook. Then to inquire about availability, simply send the dates, menus and
times you'd like to:

Private Instruction --- |
|
Your first lesson includes an initial grocery shopping trip with your personal chef. The student pays for the groceries and after the first lesson, the student does his or her own grocery shopping before each class. The first lesson and shopping trip may last about 5 hours and subsequent lessons typically last 3 hours. You may choose any combination of a la carte lessons, from the beginner to advanced topics according to your level of skill and interest. The complete list of topics can be found on any page's navigation button labeled "Classes". The cost of private cooking lessons is a flat fee for the initial lesson and shopping trip, an hourly rate for additional lessons, plus any mileage fees if the student is beyond 30 miles of Ramsey NJ. |
Group Instruction --- |
|
Your first lesson includes an initial grocery shopping trip with your personal chef. The students pay for the groceries and after the first lesson, the students do their own grocery shopping before each class. The first lesson and shopping trip may last between 5 and 6 hours and subsequent lessons typically last 4 hours. You may choose any combination of a la carte lessons, from the beginner to advanced topics according to the group's level of skill and interest. The complete list of topics can be found on any page's navigation button labeled "Classes". I like to limit the class size to 2 for any of the advanced topics. Beginner and intermediate groups may contain 3 to 6 students total. The cost for group cooking lessons is a flat fee for the initial lesson and shopping trip, an hourly rate for additional lessons, plus mileage fees if applicable. Of course the cost per student for group instruction goes down as the class size goes up.
